Demetrius Litwin, MD (11/3/23)

On November 1, 2023, ICS-US Section 2020 President, Dr. Demetrius Litwin from Worcester, MA presented during surgery grand rounds at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His presentation was titled: Laparoscopic surgery – from its beginnings to the present: Lessons learned and future directions. Participants included, Physicians, RNs, Physician Assistants, Residents, Medical Students, as well as other Faculty from Sanford.

Dr. Litwin is a general and minimally invasive surgeon. He is also the Chair of the Department of Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He also holds the title of Professor at UMass Chan Medical School. Dr. Litwin has been a member of the US Section of ICS since 1999 when he transferred from the Canadian Section, where he also served as the Section President.
